- Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates.
- Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
- Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.
- Establish cost monitoring procedures to ensure compliance with budgetary limitations.
- Conduct special studies to develop new methods of estimating costs or improving existing standards.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in estimation software like Bluebeam Revu or PlanSwift.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction.
- Ability to work under pressure within tight deadlines.
